Prep your email for summer
Lehigh email users have several options for summertime handling of email.

  • You can set up a vacation message but let mail accumulate in your inbox. This is safe if you are checking messages or if you have very low email volume. Instructions are at: http://www.lehigh.edu/helpdesk/docs/email-guide/email-guide.shtml#vm
  • You can forward your mail to another account. Instructions are at
    http://www.lehigh.edu/helpdesk/docs/email-guide/email-guide.shtml#mf
Call the Help Desk at 610-758-4357 with any questions.

Changing the default sent folder that IMP uses
In most mail programs, your sent messages are stored in your home directory on the mail server in a folder called Sent. However, when you use the IMP web-based mail program, the default location for sent messages is a different folder called "sent-mail." This means if you want to access a message you sent via IMP, you must login to IMP. Most users would prefer all sent messages go to the Sent folder on the mail
server. Follow these steps to change the IMP default sent-mail folder to the Sent folder on the mail server. https://www.lehigh.edu/lts/teams/cbe/sentimp.htm

Bumping your quota: Live demo!
Nothing is more frustrating than losing email function when you're
working on a deadline. If the email problem is related to your mail
quota, there is an easy temporary fix that you can do yourself --bumping
your quota. To see a live demo of the bump quota feature, go to:

Twenty-five years of the Web of Science now available
The Web of Science is a major library database that enables searching of scholarly literature across the sciences, social sciences, and humanities. It enables not only topic searching, but also "citation searching" for literature that cites an item of interest. The latter is a powerful way to develop a bibliography plus track who is citing one's own scholarly output. A ten-year backfile has been added so that our subscription now begins with 1983. Researchers will find more cites to earlyarticles, retrieve abstracts for much more of the early literature, and be able to link to even more full text. Available from the Database Finder (http://databases.lib.lehigh.edu/finder/)

Linderman Library closed May 10, 11
The Linderman Library will be closed to the public on May 10th and May 11th in order to complete final installations in advance of the dedication. Linderman books that must be obtained on those days can be retrieved by library staff. Please call or visit Fairchild Library to arrange for this.
